Stable visitor numbers in 2009 makes Montenegro's tourism chief optimistic even for 2010 that the country can rise its place as an expanding premium holiday destination at the Mediterranean Sea. Last year, almost 1.2 million visitors traveled from around the world to this Adriatic destination.

„The new investment in infrastructure makes Montenegro even more attractive for new guests and those who have visited us before”. After all, already 90 percent of the participants at a prestigious customer survey in last summer carried out to visit Montenegro again.

Much money is spend for road construction, renewable energy and municipal water supply. Overall, the government has budgeted more than 4 billion € for these activities over the past four years.

„Tourism is definitely the focus of our economic development” said the Tourism Minister.
